June 5, We're in Lima!

After yesterday's long day of traveling, we awoke to find ourselves in the beautiful Hostal El Patio in the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima. This is our base for the next few days.






After breakfast, we all walked to Centro de la Imagen, Peru's only professional photography school. We were greeted by the wonderful artist Luz Maria Bedoya. Luz gave us a tour of the school and spoke to us about her own work, which ranges from photography to audio and video. Great stuff!


Later in the afternoon we made our way downtown to the historic center of Lima to visit the temporary installation of the MALI, Museo de Arte de Lima. Tatiana Cuevas, the museum's curator of contemporary art was generous enough to give us a private tour of the exhibition and talk to us about the museum.





It's been a day chalk full of culture. We'll see what tomorrow brings us!
